Prevention & Outreach
The St. Maarten AIDS Foundation engages in multiple outreach programs to educate both the general public and at-risk populations about the risks of HIV infection and to reduce stigma/discrimination associated with HIV.
Our Outreach initiative revolves around three programs:
- Prevention Messaging aimed at the General Public. Free Testing Days fall under this program, as do educational workshops provided to businesses and communities. For our next free and confidential HIV Testing Day, click here. The Foundation also offers testing at its office in Cole Bay.
- Youth Programs, including Girl Power and soon-to-be-launched Real Talk aimed at teenage boys, as well as the yearly Youth Consultation and the peer education program Junior AIDS Committee.
- Most At Risk Populations (MARPs) programs, targeting ethnic groups, migrants, MSMs (Men who have sex with Men), and CSWs (Commercial Sex Workers).
